Five Elements

In Chinese Medicine, the 5 most basic parts of a person are given the names of elements in the natural world.  They are water, wood, fire, earth, and metal.  In this presentation, the Chinese 5 Element theory will help individuals to understand their personality tendencies and needs for growth.

Benefits

  • Participants will increase their ability to take responsibility for their health through the principles of Chinese medicine.
  • They will learn how they are unique, increasing self esteem.
  • These sessions will develop interest in self care and open the door to discovering all of the things they can do on their own to improve their health.

5 sessions by an acupuncturist which will convey the meaning of each element through pictures, words, discussion, acupuncture points, and motions.

Activities

  • Pictures, a hand out, presentation, and discussion teaches which personality characteristics such as  tastes, foods, values, and talents are associated with each of the elements.
  • Through a few simple Qigong movements, participants get a physical feeling for each element and get an activity they can do to bring more balance into their life.
